I found the Secret of Life - Day 29

Day 29 Psalms 29, 59, 89, 119, 149
Here is the secret of life!
Because Psalm 119 is so long and has so much, I will save Proverbs 29 for tomorrow as it too has so much to discuss.
God is not like humans, He keeps us accountable but does not kick us out of the house. We have a God that keeps loving and is faithful to us even when we are faithless.
89:30 "If his sons forsake my law and do not follow my statutes,
31 if they violate my decrees and fail to keep my commands,
32 I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with flogging;
33 but I will not take my love from him, nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.
34 I will not violate my covenant or alter what my lips have uttered.
Psalm 119 is another favorite, its an amazing alphabetic acrostic psalm. Each stanza has eight verses beginning with the same Hebrew letter.
One of my favorite themes of this Psalm is “the Word of God.” It has everything that man needs. It helps guide him, keep his way pure. The Psalmist “LOVES” following the word of God, he treasures it above everything else. Oh so few who really understand this, “I rejoice in following your statutes as one rejoices in great riches.”.
This is the best psalm and encouraging word I have had in a while.
33 Teach me, O LORD, to follow your decrees; then I will keep them to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.
35 Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight.
36 Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.
37 Turn my eyes away from worthless things;
preserve my life according to your word.
38 Fulfill your promise to your servant, so that you may be feared.
39 Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good.
40 How I long for your precepts! Preserve my life in your righteousness.
I actually want to just quote the whole thing here but I won’t. Read it slowly again and again. Memorize it! Meditate on it. Make it your daily bread.
The Psalmist has two main emphasis here, Love God’s word and obey every detail of it. May I e the same Lord, I am not in love with your word and definitely don’t obey it as I should. Give me a thirst and hunger for your word and for obedience. The latter is much more elusive then the former. Help me obey you because of my love for you. Grow my love for you and dim my passion for the world’s riches, lusts and power. Light a fire in my spirit to obey every detail, every day, consistently growing in that love.
54 Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge.
55 In the night I remember your name, O LORD, and I will keep your law.
56 This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.
That is it! I want to have a habit of obeying your Word. To rise to it and sleep in it, to eat it, to day dream about you. May the secret desires of my heart all be turned to you. May the quiet hopes be all on you. May my greatest joys be walking with you. Nothing I desire compares to you!
97 Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.
98 Your commands make me wiser than my enemies, for they are ever with me.
99 I have more insight than all my teachers, for I meditate on your statutes.
100 I have more understanding than the elders, for I obey your precepts.
“You are wiser beyond your years” .
112 My heart is set on keeping your decrees to the very end.
Jesus, teach me, mold me to love you, your word and your commands.
